BSCS Biology: An Ecological Approach (Green Version) is an introductory high school biology program. The Green Version curriculum integrates major biology concepts into an ecological framework, including these fundamental themes:
- science as inquiry,
- the history of biological concepts,
- science and society, and
- the diversity of life.
Green Version's rich array of activities exemplifies BSCS's belief that students must be directly involved with the concepts and skills they are learning in order to acquire and retain an in-depth understanding of the material.
Using a student-centered, active-learning approach, Green Version offers students hands-on activities and laboratories that develop inquiry skills and conceptual understanding that they will use the rest of their lives.
