SEEDS (Science Exploration and Education Discovery Series) is designed to help teachers improve their students' science literacy through fun, hands-on lessons. The curriculum was developed by the The New York Botanical Garden. All lessons are directly linked to the National Science Education Standards. With strong math and literacy components, and direct links to national science learning standards, SEEDS lessons provides a well-needed and effective resource to teachers around the country.
The SEEDS units include:
SEEDS 1, introducing kindergarteners and first graders to plant parts and their function.
SEEDS 2, for grades 2-3, concerning the many ways that plants adapt to their ever-changing environment.
SEEDS 3, for grades 4-5, covering plant and animal interactions.
Each SEEDS kit contains the following materials:
- Classroom Lessons
- A Teacher's Guide and reproducible handouts
- Children's books
- A class set of hand lenses, materials for activities, and more.
