Will my book compete with your other titles in the discipline?
Answer: No. Each book has its own individual marketing budget and plan. This means the success of your book is completely independent of any other titles we publish. Your book will never be taken out of print because of the success of another title.
Why should I publish with Kendall Hunt?

Who handles the clearing of permissions and pays the fees?
Answer: We have a permissions staff which will handle clearing of all permissions for the project. In addition, we will set forth a budget for the project to cover the payment of these fees.
What is your marketing plan for this book (if applicable)?
Answer: Our marketing plan will be documented in detail for you prior to your signing agreement. The plan will focus on four areas: designing an ad piece to be sent to professors throughout the country; sending complimentary copies to colleagues you suggest; displaying your book at appropriate conferences on an annual basis; and listing your book on our website. We will do everything we can to give your book a chance to be successful beyond the scope of your school.
What happens if I don't hit my due date?
Answer: Hopefully you will not be far off target if we miss our due date, but in the event that you do, two things will occur. First, you will meet with your Acquisitions Editor to discuss why the project is off target and to formulate a new schedule to get back on track. Second, we will agree on a new completion date for the project.
If we don't sell all of the books in two years, do I have to buy them?
Answer: No. We make every attempt to base our print runs conservatively enough so that this does not become an issue. However, if after two years we still have some unsold inventory, we expect that you will continue to use the book until the contracted amount has been sold.
I would like to do the book, but I don't have the time.
Answer: Time is an important consideration for all of us. In fact, most of our authors have had the same concern before they signed on with us. However, they found that by putting aside small amounts of time either on a daily or weekly basis, they were able to put together a quality product in a reasonable amount of time. We will work with you to find a schedule that will help you complete your book, and at the same time, make it an enjoyable experience.
Can I change the title?
Answer: Yes, at any time up to the delivery of the final manuscript.
