A research-based, hands-on integrated Pre-K mathematics curriculum

Exploration and discovery are at the heart of We Discover Math. This new curriculum features activities and literature as contexts for mathematics, helping students make connections to their own world.

Standards-based

We Discover Math is based on the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Principles and Standards for School Mathematics, the NCTM Curriculum Focal Points for Pre-Kindergarten, and the recommendations of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Students learn mathematics in much the same way as they learn anything else, through making connections to their own experiences and explorations. Manipulatives within We Discover Math activities are used consistently and purposefully and play a critical role in the development of concepts and skills.

For All StudentsContent is revisited throughout, allowing for individual student understanding to develop. The pacing of these activities is reliant upon consistent and on-going student assessment.

Cross-Curricular ConnectionsCross-Curricular Connections such as the important areas of motor skills and social/emotional development are embedded in the activities and are indicated by icons on the Unit Planner and within actiivities. Additionally, students interact with various forms of media, fine arts, and technology.
