The presentation begins by discussing the most persistent problems the presenter has faced in teaching philosophy to undergraduates for over a decade. The presenter then turns to the solutions he's developed through the years, followed by strategic methods he's wanted to implement but hadn't gotten to until very recently, like using pop culture more deliberately and effectively in his teaching.
Dr. Joseph Forte then discusses the ways in which the process of writing Moral Issues and Movies enabled him to implement those strategies. The final part of the presentation explains the ways in which his textbook addresses the aforementioned problems and makes it possible for instructors to enhance their teaching by using films, while also cutting down on prep time.
